Max is a California State Arts Scholar who received a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Directing at Columbia University, where he was awarded the Faculty Selects Honor for his writing.
His work often explores social malady and the burnouts and strange characters of the American wasteland. Selected screenings include the Palm Springs International ShortsFest, Nashville Film Festival, Frameline International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, NoBudge, and PBS. He is a Reykjavík Talent Lab alum.
His debut feature film Eating the Ocean is currently in development.
