
Max is a California State Arts Scholar who received his BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA at Columbia University, where he was awarded the Faculty Selects prize for writing and nominated for the BAFTA Student Award.
His work often spotlights outcasts and outsiders that revel in the fringes of acceptable society. Selected screenings include the Palm Springs International ShortFest, Nashville Film Festival, Frameline International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, NoBudge, and PBS. He is a Reykjavík Talent Lab alum.
His fiction has been published in Forever Magazine, Animal Blood, and Speakeasy Mag, among others.
His debut feature film Eating the Ocean is currently in development.
